About me
First of all, I wanted to give a quick disclaimer about the watermarks on some of my photos. To protect my work against theft, misuse and AI, these transparent texts appear on a few of them.
My name is Sibyl, I’m 29, I live in Switzerland and I took up crochet in 2021. It all began during the pandemic, when I was stuck studying from home. I was getting very bored during lessons and was easily distracted by my phone. That’s when I remembered that, at the back of a drawer, I had the remains of a crochet kit that I’d kept after making personalised gifts for my two-year-old cousins: a unicorn and a donkey. Those gifts had been a real challenge: I’d had just four days to make them and no knowledge of crochet whatsoever. I finally managed it, on very little sleep, just in time.
Back in 2021, I typed ‘crochet tutorial’ into the internet and came across a YouTube video on how to make your own top. I gave it a go and voilà, my first top was finished! I carried on with a headband, then a second one, and gradually discovered the world of yarn and the endless possibilities that crochet offers.
Three months later, I launched my Instagram account and I haven’t looked back since. Sharing my world and seeing my customers happy with their orders has become a real passion.
I chose the name Pink Precision because pink is a colour I love, and ‘precision’ reflects my perfectionist streak and my attention to detail in every stitch. This attention to detail also stems from my background in mechanical engineering, where you sometimes have to work to the nearest hundredth, or even a micron.
I place great importance on my values: respect for the environment, sustainability and responsible consumption. Every creation is designed to last, in line with the slow fashion philosophy, so as to offer high-quality, responsible pieces that stand the test of time.
